I’m a representational artist working mainly from life, in oils. I paint still life, portraits and landscapes and I love to draw. I am drawn to the beauty of this life, the moments that make me pause, look closely and feel small and thankful. I paint the things I love - the flowers I grow, the people I hold close, the ever-changing sky and the occasional dead bird found on the side of the road.

Art was always around me. My mum was a practising artist. She held life drawing sessions at home, and I was regularly taken to exhibitions, galleries and artist’s studios. I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember. I studied and practiced as a Graphic Designer - I am grateful for the lessons it has given me in composition. Denise Chapple, a wonderfully generous artist and teacher, taught me the essentials of tonal painting. Beyond that, I’m largely self-taught.

I try to start every painting with a beginner’s eye, and I never approach one the same way twice. I’m still curious, still learning, and still keen to push myself somewhere new.

I live and paint in the Macedon Ranges, Victoria. My work has won awards, is represented by General Public Art (US), and is held in private collections in Australia and overseas.
